Appenzeller<sup>®</sup> cheesemakers are among the best in the world

The renowned World Championship Cheese Contest took place in Wisconsin, USA, from March 5 to 7, 2024. For three days, 53 experts evaluated over 3,300 cheese varieties, butters, yogurts and other dairy products submitted in 142 categories. Among the winners was Appenzeller^® cheese, which impressed the judges with its creamy texture and unmistakably tangy flavour.

The first three places in category 51 (Appenzeller^®, young) went to the following cheesemakers for their Appenzeller^® Silver Label cheese:

Marcel Gabriel from the Schollrüti cheese dairy in Oberbüren can be proud: The winners of the 142 categories were subsequently judged again by a super jury, with his Appenzeller^® Silver Label being the only Appenzeller^® cheese to make it into the top 20 overall in the World Championship Cheese Contest. Congratulations!
